4B- The Caledonian Ark

The Caledonian Ark

On Friday 28 November Primary 4B were very lucky enough to be invited to take part in a workshop at the Edinburgh College of Art on Lauriston Place. During the workshop the children were given the opportunity to investigate and draw a range of endangered Scottish animals, birds and insects.

The first thing that the children were asked to do was to choose one of the animals, insects or birds in front of them and to draw/ paint it using any of the materials in front of them, anything except a pencil!
This was a fantastic opportunity for the kids to get creative.

After rotating around to a different table, the children had to choose an animal, insect or bird and select one of the features to exaggerate.

Finally, the children were asked to select one of the animals, birds or insects which they had seen during the day and create a mini picture of their choice for a time capsule. The children's capsules were then used to create a wall display in the college.

What a fantastic day
