Over the past couple of weeks Tuesday has been 'Brain Day' in 4B.
Mrs Anstruther has been helping us to learn all about the brain, its functions and how that affects our learning.
She has taught us about neurons and the pathways that are formed to help us retain information and begin to do things automatically.
We know that a healthy brain requires: food, water, exercise and lots of sleep.
This is a picture of a pig's brain which we got to touch. Did you know that it is very fatty?
This is us trying to work on our memory. We had to listen to a list of items and try to remember them. Mrs Anstruther has been teaching us some methods to help us remember things better.
We've also been practising memorising the items in the box. Try it at home. How many can you remember?
At the end of every session we have been doing a little bit of Mindfulness to help us relax and to be aware of what is happening around us.

On the 23 November we were very luck to have a special visitor. Max's mum, Dr Tara Spires-Jones, who knows all there is to know about brains came to speak to us.
She taught us about all of the different parts of the brain and told us what it was like to be a scientist for a living (this is now what we all want to do). We learned so many fascinating facts about the brain and were about to ask lots of questions. Soon we'll be experts too!
Most importantly of all we know that we are capable of learning anything. If things are tricky we know just to relax, have a go and give it our best shot. After all, we learn from failing and it's okay to do so. If something is difficult we are learning to say to ourselves: it's okay, I just can't do this YET.
